Mississippi River


The Pemiscot County Port is located at mile 849 on the Lower Mississippi River, near Hayti and Caruthersville, MO. The port is 85 miles North of Memphis, TN and 185 miles south of St. Louis, MO. The US Army Corps of Engineers maintains a minimum channel depth of nine feet, but barges can be loaded to twelve feet as river stage allows.


Pemiscot County Port Harbor: The ice-free, slack-water harbor is 4,680 feet in length with a 300 foot turning basin at the upper end. The harbor is maintained at the same depth as the navigation channel in the Mississippi River, and is dredged annually by contract through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
